Let's lighten up on our young people starting out on the life thing. What makes me share these thoughts... I once knew a young lady, well she's mature now, but this is her story. She started her healing journey at 20, during this time she experienced some devastation behind it, but she said she believed the elders. She was afraid, so she kept at it. The thing is, life kept happening... She was young and green and still skinning her knees from time to time, but she kept living and life kept happening.
Now, on the sideline of this young lady's journey were the observers. They were much older than her, and she didn't judge them. She looked up to them and believed them. Sometimes, her young mind didn't even want to pursue the journey, the yets.
The point of the story is, life happens so work at it anyway. Young people search for help to live and they do live, but even in the midst of saving their young lives they will change every seven years in multiple ways. Life will seem twisted and growth spurts come in all ways. Just because a young person decides a spiritual journey early doesn't make their journey less valuable as they slip and slide and grow. They become the heros who hit those emotional bottoms and keep trying. They're battling something inside that wants them dead, but they hold on to all the good stuff they've learned along the way. They have the courage to try another way.
Let's not judge them, let's applaud the message in the young people. Let's be happy as they work on themselves to save themselves. Most of all be compassionate when they slide because life will happen.
